A few months back, I was chatting with my girls Alex and Sharee about the stresses and frustrations (lets also add 'joys') of living and working as freelancing gypsies. We decided that we should set up a weekly meet, a sort of 'book club for freelancers', to chat about all things freelance life. In a normal job you would have co-workers to vent to and gauge your progress from... as freelancers working in our own creative spaces we are deprived of that dynamic! This weekly meet has become a serious lifeline. A source to draw inspiration from each others work and successes, and a vital opportunity to cheer each other on through the brutality of working as a lone ranger.
One such inspiration was the concept for the above film. One week Alex came late, apologising "sorry the frame shop was giving away glass!". Her brilliant mind had dreamt up the concept of painting on glass in front of a model to create an incredible dimensional sensation!
Setting our creative hands to work we set aside an afternoon to create with no rules or brief. It was a gleeful chance for us to just play creatively to our hearts content.
