Galactic Wasteland
A creative concept collaborating with wordsmith, illustrator and part time glitter wearer Emma Pitman .
"Leave it at that,
some blues don’t wash out.
At the ocean
where the sky is
wet and tall and inside out
we find a trapdoor,
We come out among the
stars, the lunar desert. They drink
in our strangeness,
our limbs and our soft textured
skins. And the way
we like to be told, and gasp
at how brutally we want
to be adored. "
Emma is one of those super creatives who can pick up any discipline and kill it first go. She casually writes perfectly silly and cute songs for her friends birthdays, then sings and plays them on her guitar. When Mr Jones and I were engaged, she sat down one afternoon and drew vines and branches around our names and quirky characters of us and voila! we had our handmade wedding invites. (My sister later turned these into an animation...see them here)
When Emma recently started sending me her latest glitter inspiration, I knew what needed to be done!
