growing up is tough, but you can do it

Growing up is not easy. It takes guts to start making the big decisions like when to go to bed and how to spend your last five dollars. Its tough paying bills for things that used to just exist in your life...like the internet. And on top of that all your relationships are changing. You start to see (and then immediately ignore) a more human side of your parents. Life can loose its meaning a little bit. But this is not the time to give up! Don't let that confusion get comfortable. By embracing the forming of who you are as a human on this earth, you can hold on to the quirks and things that make you wonderfully different. Water these oddities and they will grow. Be more mischievous than when you were a child. Say to yourself, "I LOVE getting older!" And before you know it, you will have a wider, more peaceful view of the world. And perhaps see others a little more than you see yourself. By letting go of our younger days, we can indeed regain our youth.   

And when all else fails, well at least there's tea.

Recently I had the privilege of shooting one of my favourite young creatives, Elizabeth. In the last year I have seen her tackle some pretty big "growing up" moments. And I wanted to capture some imagery (with a little humour) to show the quintessential struggle that is growing up.
