Ilsa's garden

I like to think of 'limits' as keyholes into our creativity. They force us to look for the key. And if we can't find the key, we make a key or use marshmallows to pick the lock...and that is how we cross into the happy land of creative invention. 

I am always fascinated by what can be created with leftovers. The parts most people throw away are the parts I relish! (disclaimer: eventually you must throw things away lest you become a hoarder) 

Often we loooong for creative freedom and loath our restrictions. But too much freedom can leave us directionless and blank. 

The plants we used in this shoot are all part of the overgrowth of my garden... aka 'weeds'. And the fruit is all what was lying around my kitchen.   

It was these limits that turned on the creative mind of Ilsa Bird to make these quirky garden scenes.
